I have heard great reviews about this computer but now you can only buy it with Windows Vista. Should I not get it even though its a great computer? Is Vista really that bad? Are there other computers like the HP Pavilion dv6000t that can be bought with XP? Thanks

Buying a new computer with Vista on it certainly shouldn't hamper your decision. Of course, it all depends on what your computer is being used for.

Vista, as I have found with gaming, stinks!
Vista, for plain ole computing/email/internet.... sure!
Gentoo, for everything you can dream of doing... try it out!

Don't let having Vista installed on a computer stop you from buying it. You can load any operating system you want on it. Of course you'll have to buy the OS separately.

Vista works a little differently than previous versions. MS has made our work "easier" by creating more macros and complicated toolbars. It will require a little study. Save yourself some frustration by going to
www.amazon.com and get a book or two. Look for used books and save. All I have received so far have been in excellent condition.

XP will be discountinued soon. Vista is just new, it takes time for M$ to tweak it. When XP first came out, they had the same issues. It should be all good.
