I don't pay too much attention to foreign politics; all I know is that, of the numerous Britons I've met, I never disliked one of them; my best friend is actually British born & raised. Of the ones I know of, they're good-natured, intelligent, friendly people as a whole with a great sense of humour; by no means as uptight as the world perceives them.

And no, the British people not cowards. That's quite unfair to judge an entire group of people on just a few of them, kinda like the French stereotype.

I think Americans have a very positive view of the British. Great accents, a fascinating political system, a beautiful country, a noble culture rich in history and tradition. Yet hip and modern at the same time. What's not to love?

I've adored my trips to England. Too many amazing things there to list.

As to who the prime minister is, I don't think that changes our view all that much.

"What do Americans really think of the British..?"

We don't.

Seriously, no offense. I study international politics, I'm interested in world affairs, blah blah blah, but I really don't spend a lot of time formulating opinions on the British. I'd like to wait and see about Gordon Brown, but as for you Brits, I just don't think about you all too often.

They're our closest allies in the world, by far if you count only the ones with nuclear weapons. And Americans tend to love all things British -- cars, clothes, movies, music, novels, etc.

I have respect for the Country of Britian, but as for the citizens, I think they are cowardly and talk a lot of crap! Tony Blair is the best man in that country!!!

I have no problem with the British. They have the second best accent after australians.

Isn't Britain the country that gave us Liz Hurley? For that alone, I am eternally grateful!
