my mom died when i was 14 so she wasnt around to but i know she would have cause she was very strict.my dad became a drunk after mom died and didnt care what i did.so i got into a lot of trouble.when i had my kids i was strict and my oldest daughter would always get mad cause she would ask my advice on a matter or what do you think?, i would tell her and she would get mad.later she was even madder cause she said you are always right! how do you do that? i told her i was young once so i know and theres really nothing you are going to do that will surprise me.but there are consequences be prepared to deal with them.be smart and dont do stupid things just cause your friends do.i also could finish her sentences which she hated.so does my husband.they both say to me- get out of my head! you are reading my thoughts! strange but true.good luck.

When I was a teen and kids lived on a farm you came home from school and brought in the firewood for the next day..
Gathered the eggs and milked the cow and sometimes did it in the morning before school. We didn't have a TV, don't think they existed. If you had a phone no one used it but parents. There was so many people on it that any story that was told was circulated through out town. Not a place for a private conversation.
People didn't get divorced and abusive husbands were tolerated. There wasn't any young girls getting pregnant and not married. If you did you went to stay with a relative far away or that was the story and the parents found a couple to adopt the baby. It was never kept and the girl never told.
No one but close family members knew what she had done it was a disgrace. If the father found out the boys name it was called a shot gun wedding. You did it you bought it.
In school the crimes boys did to girls was hair pulling and splashing water and putting snakes and lizzards in your desk.
Maybe a few spiders. Dirty words you got your mouth washed out with soap.
They had a wood shed and a paddle and the teacher wasn't afraid to use it.
If you gave them to much trouble you were not allowed to go to school and went to work in the fields. It was considered a priviledge not a right.
You had sex after marriage and you stayed married.
If you gave your word that was a contract. That meant something. Lies simply were not tolerated.
Now everything on TV is a lie or most of it.

It's always annoying when parents are right about something. Lol! I'm sure my kids think so too!

I hate that as well. Have the adults be right and all, when you are all naive and say you know what you're going to do -_-

I hated it, but I never admitted it to them. My pride wouldn't let me admit it to anyone but myself
