I had a miscarriage in January and want to lose a bit of weight. I'm just swapping sweets and chocolate for fruit and not starving myself. Also I've started exercising - is this ok?

I'm just a bit worried that you're not supposed to diet if you do get pregnant. Who knows, I could be but need to wait until period is due to find out!

What you're doing is a GOOD thing. The better shape you're in going into your next pregnancy, the better the pregnancy will be. If you're not starving yourself and simply making better choices, you should be fine. Remember that a fetus only needs an extra 300 calories for the most part anyway. That's not a whole lot, and dieting until you find out you're pregnant is okay. I was on a fruits and vegetables only diet for...well okay, for like 2 days, lol, when I found out I was pregnant again (I miscarried in November). If anything, I was providing more nutrients for the baby than I would have if I had stuck to my normal diet of junk food and fast food. Even though I'm back to eating from other parts of the pyramid, I've been able to comfortably incorporate way more fruits and vegetables than I would have because of my whole 2 days of dieting. :) I FEEL healthier, and I don't mind eating carrots while everyone around me is eating chocolate.

Good luck and best wishes!

Making the healthy decision to switch from junk food to fruits and things like that is a great decision when you're trying to get pregnant and so is exercising. Many women don't try to change their ways until they're pregnant and I think it's so smart when women change before because you're bringing the baby into a healthier body from the beginning. You should also ask your doctor for prenatals. When my husband and I were TTC for this pregnancy, I made an appointment with my doctor to get prenatals and any tests they wanted to do to make sure I'd be okay to get pregnant. Good luck sweety.

i'm smitten by celery and cream cheese and characteristic been for the previous couple of months. Been ttc for over a 365 days now and this hasn't helped yet yet supplies me a physically powerful excuse to maintain ingesting it. I on no account knew it ought to help.
