no, lightning can travel through the pipes and kill you. Same thing CAN happen while you're peeing if lighting hits and you're peeing a solid stream.

If you must do either, take a bath because if you take a shower you increase the risk of getting struck because if it hits any conduit where the water is running through to get to the shower, the shower would be in the path and would get hit. A bath on the other hand, would be safer because the tub would have to get hit directly, and your odds of that are less.

Ideally neither, but if you really have to, I would say take a shower. The reason being less water is in contact with your body per unit time, and thus the resistance of your body is greater than in a bath. Remember, water conducts electricity much easier than air, so it's better to have more air around you than water in a lightning storm.

The ONLY time I'll reconsider is if I live at the top of a hill and the lightning is really close. It may kill a lot of people in the States, but take into consideration two things: your population and the law of averages.
Here we have far less people on our little island and I have not heard of ONE person getting killed like that here. Must suck to be in the States, hurricanes, tsunami's.... San Andreas fault.,.....

No, Lightning can travel through pipes. You should never be around any water when it is lightening.

Although not recommended, it's not really a bad thing. I used to when I had to. But be warned, the power turning off can shut off your water. And if you are that worried about it, I wouldn't do it.
