I have been waiting for over 3 years for my youngest daughter to develop emotional maturity and a sense of true responsibility / committment toward her daughter. She seems to think that life should be fun 24/7, and she's missing out on a LOT by spending more time with her "friends" than she spends with her daughter. (And even when she spends time with her daughter, she's not truly with her daughter because she ALWAYS has to either have one of her friends there or be on the phone with one of them.) I don't think she has EVER spent one-on-one time with her daughter - except to take a nap with her!
