i have 9 and am getting another one soon (a hedgehog).
i get crazy looks when i tell people how many pets i am, so just wondering if anyone else is as "crazy" as i am.

Hello..as long as you can care properly for them ..that's all the matters..we have 4 dogs, 2 cats, 2 snakes, chickens, cockateil... right now, so if that's crazy well then guess I am ..but I'm a Happy Crazy ..LOL!! I like all creatures, just some I don't make pets of..like anything wild or native & some I have a healthy respect for ..like wild snakes ;) Take Care :)

I have 6 animals too lolz. I know what u mean I love animals more than anything in the world. I wanna be a vet when I am older. I think that is great that u love animals. Hedgehogs are so..... cute ur so lucky. Good luck!

OMG! I'm the same way, I thought I had problems untill I found this website. Unfortunately my mom isn't so fond of animals, I have 2 gerbils, and got a puppy like 6 weeks ago. My mom did'nt want any of them. My first two gerbils I bought with my aunt, when we past a pet store one day, and I kept pestering her about how I needed a pet. I have always loved animals, and read so many books on them, I begged her to the point where I was nearly to tears, she finally gave in. I take care of them all by myself and love them to death. My mom won't even so much as feed them, every single time I take one out of there cage, she talks about how crazy my aunt is for letting me buy them, and says they look like little rats. I got a puppy one night after my cousin called me and told me his friends dog gave birth to a litter of puppies, and the mom died a month later. I said yes I wanted one with no hesitation, or without even asking my mom. My puppy came to me shriveled in a little cardboad box. When my mom saw her she was in shock, but she is not so mean as to just throw the little thing outside. So we kept her, I mean I would probably be histerical if she ever gave her away. My mom is 100% hatian, and knows nothing about dogs, except that they are kept outside and feed left over dinner. That is how people treat them in her homeland, not bad, just no vet care, or appropriate food or shelter. Every single time I go and buy dog food, I have to explain how dogs have specific food, because she goes on a rampage about how we have food at home. I have to save up all my money, every cent for my animals. I sacrifice a lot for them, but its worth it. I'm 14, and I want more dogs its crazy. Sometimes I wish my mom was more like the american moms who love and care for there dogs. Now, Coco is nine weeks, full of life, and healthy. I recently found out my mom is secretly liking her, she takes her out of the cage while I'm at school, and plays with her. I see how she laughs and smiles when she comes home to find the dog jumping and so happy to see her. I know Coco will change the way my mom sees animals. Good luck!

As long as you can care for each pet properly...
I used to have a rescued catfish.
Snapping turtles make good pets - just keep you hands out of their tanks.
Ostrich don't make good pets - trust me on that - they're not cuddly.
Chickens do make good pets although roosters can be noisy.
Goats are darling pets. One of my favorite.
And my rescued pitbull is the sweetest little guy on 4 white paws.

we have eight, 1 dogs, 5 cats, 2 puppies, and i want to get some fish i love them all. the puppies are soo funny and my dog just loves having someone to play with! the cats really hate them, i want more animals but its starting to get crouded. the puppies are gonna be big and its getting hard to keep them from chasing the cats. i wanted to get a chicken before the puppies found us, and i found the perfect little guy but we just don't have to right enviroment. sad.

It's ok...people think I'm nuts too. I have six cats (and still want more), a dog and I used to have three chinchillas (so soft and sweet).
