ok so i quit my job were because my boss was always talking down to me, he was unproffesional and i was tired of him dissrespecting me nd calling me a *****

I was getting payed under the table. my ex boss wrote me personal/company bank checks. I went to the office yesterday to pick up my last check which should be $650.
And he said that he doesnt owe me anything to get out of his office. and that he's not going to pay me because of what i did. (he changed the locks because i lost the office key which i found later nd he accused me of telling one of the models that hes a scam.) thats ridiculous!! he cant hold that against me. I worked hard for that money.

How can I go about doing this?

there is no proof of documents. I feel really betrayed by this man.
The only thing i can think of is reporting him for paying his employees under the table.

But is there a way i can get my money back? should i take him to court? I dont know how to go about doing this. Please help

Easiest way would be to threaten to go to the labor board and/or the IRS. The labor board can get you your money, but the threat of the IRS should cause him to poop in his pants. If not, then he has never dealt with the IRS. I would rather have the mob after me than the IRS. LOL! If you have your paystubs, it should show that there weren't any taxes taken out. Check first to see if you are an independent contractor, which has a specific set of rules to decide that, but there are exceptions based on industry standards.

PS- If all your wages were paid in 2007, then don't worry about getting in trouble, but make sure you include that income on your 2007 tax return.

Talk to an attorney. If it isn't worth his time, it isn't worth your time. Also, if you are gettting paid under the table and did not report the income on your tax return, you could go to jail for tax evasion. And you could also be taxed for this year's payments, plus all the back years including a penalty interest and a 50% civil fraud penalty. Do you realy want the "under the table" payments to become public?

You could report him to the department of labor but you might also get in trouble for failing to report all that income you earned. You will have to show proof of the checks and you will have to pay taxes on the money.

You can report him, and you'll have a lot of explaining to do, too.

Never agree to be paid under the table unless you are close to the employer and trust them.

talk to a lawyer. find one who is willing to talk first. if they scream "money up front" find another one.

Or, you can go to a reporter, some reporters love good stories and pay very good for them.

just a couple ideas for you.

I'll play devil's advocate and say learn from this experience, cut your losses, and walk away. Don't ever put yourself in this position again.
