Sensory problems are incredibly not a super deal. some ocupational scientific care must be unencumber until age 3 nevertheless a usual Steps application on your state. extra advantageous sensory stimulation facilitates a toddler calm down. anybody has a want for sensory stimulation, extra so as a toddler. bear in mind the variety you enjoyed to get dizzy once you have been little yet once you probably did it now your uncertain you ought to hold down your lunch? youngsters want that form of stuff. some youngsters want it somewhat extra advantageous than others and that is categorized sensory disfunction. they want extra stimulation especially aspects to be calm and correctly adjusted in different aspects. My advice is to get him evaluated by making use of an Ocupational Therapist. Been there carried out that. Get him right into a usual Steps application and circulate from there. i does not freak out over it. An OT can tell by making use of your descriptions and by making use of spending time with him if he needs slightly help interior the sensory branch. If it quite is all he needs - than for me, please be satisfied. there isn't something incorrect with a touch scientific take care of a touch guy to help him sense comforable in his environment regardless of if he does not have SID. All youngsters can earnings from OT. As for if he's a spoiled brat...in case you self-discipline him and he starts howling like his canine merely died and his heart is torn - then you quite understand he became performing out for a reason he will not be able to describe to you. Been there carried out that still. My son eyes have been like I had merely crushed his heart. As a mom you will 'understand' in case you notice a appear like that or if he's merely having a tantrum. that is interior the reaction to self-discipline I'ld look ahead to. If he gets extra obdurate and offended - temper tantrum. If he looks lost and his feeling have been harm - that is something else.

Check in your local yellow pages for private practice Occupational Therapist Clinics/practices. You also might contact your local public school's administative offices and ask for the Occupational Therapy Dept. They probably could refer you to O.T.'s in the community with experience in Sensory Integration. I was a school O.T. for 24 years and did work with autistic students with S.I. issues. I definitely was aware of private practice O.T.s in the area and gladly gave parents referrals.

Since he's 3 then contact your local public school system. 3 year olds qualify for special services through the school system. Prior to 3 they go through early intervention. If he does have sensory issues and is nonverbal, he will need more than just OT, he needs speech/language as well. He will recieve all these services and more for free......don't wait!
