it will usually be trans vaginal, there they insert a wand into the vagina to see the baby. You will probably be able to see it clearly, unless you are under 8 weeks, then it wil mostly look lia a beany-blob shape. You may see the heart beat, and the baby may move! Its very exciting, and most dr give you pictures to keep! Congrats!

I had my first ultrasound at 9 weeks and for better images it was a vaginal. the nice thing about that is you dont have to drink a ton of water and lye there uncomfortable. I just had a doctors appointment yesterday and I'm 11 weeks and 1 day and I heard my babys heartbeat for the first time :) My doctor said at around this time its about 50/50 if you get to hear the heartbeat, so dont assume somthing is wrong if they cant hear one. generally its 12 weeks where its detectable. Good luck!! Im excited for you!!

This website is great! Being a first time mom, I used the calendar, and it tells me what to expect every day and what's going on with my baby. This link has a picture of an ultrasound at 11 weeks, but you can explore the site and do the calendar. If they do a non vaginal ultrasound, it is a little comfy. The room is relaxing, usually has very soft lighting and very quiet. The part that's uncomfy is when they push on your stomach. It doesn't hurt though.

Did they tell you to come with a full bladder? If not, you're getting a pelvic ultrasound. A regular ultrasound you need a full bladder for.

I had a pelvic ultrasound at 8 weeks. Heard the heartbeat, got to see all the forming limbs, heart, cord, & yolk sac. THey did some measurments, took several pictures & took a video of it for us as well. Wasn't uncomfortable at all, they insert maybe an inch of the insturment into you for the scan. Not a big deal at all.

Yes, the heartbeat will be heard...and they will do a vaginal ultrasound. But if you are like me, I went in there at 12 weeks and they did the vaginal one, and she was too big for it. They told me that I was only 12 weeks but I was actually 14 weeks at that time! So I was pleasantly surprised :-)

Well if it's your first appointment in general then you will probably get a pelvic exam, pap smear, breast exam and more than likely you'll get a vaginal ultrasound done. YOu should be able to see a heartbeat but I'm not sure you'll hear it!

My first ultrasound I just spent forever in there while the woman checked to make sure all the parts where there and working. I got to watch it move around..it had the hiccups..and it even pee'd, which was weird. They wont be able to determine the sex yet...but it's still a great experience..truly amazing.Good luck.

they are going to use a vaginal sonogram which will pay attention to the heart beat (reckoning on how a ways alonf you're) and verify for progression and how many weeks you're, and you may get a tiny photograph of your infant. they are going to verify your weight, blood tension, and urine for an infection, protein, and iron. they did no longer provide me a pap until eventually ultimately my 0.33 bypass to yet they do do one interior the begining, and that i recieved blood tests my 2nd bypass to.

No they don't do the Vaginal one. Only if they ask you if you want too. I know with mines they just did alot of pushing to find the baby because my bladder was in the way. But they don't do that one unless they are looking for cancer.

They put some clear cream on your belly & rub a little monitor over your belly. Nothing inside!
