Study some US history first. The revolutionary war was fought on a shoestring budget and sometimes no budget. People fought in the dead of winter barefoot and naked. People died, starved, etc. Then there was the tension of the civil war. The civil rights movement of the 1800's inspired the klan. There is forward and reversed prejudices and hatreds we deal with internally on a daily basis. There are all kinds of struggles this county went through while it was struggling to grow and establish itself. Yet so many come here expecting a handout and the streets paved with gold. And they don't stop there. Many of them try to recreate this country and make it more like the one they left! If you cannot follow the rules of the new place, maybe you shouldn't come here at all? I mean really!

What past generations did or sacrificed really has little to do with what current generations 'deserve.' It's nice to think that we may be building a better future for our descendents, but whether we succeed in that or not, those descendents should be judged on thier own merits and thier own actions.
Similarly, people today are not to be judged by the history of thier ancestors, but on thier own merits. Learn from history, yes, but don't become mired in it.
There's no need to look to the past to justify ourselves. It doesn't matter if you were the first person in your family born in the US, or if you have been here for 7 generations, or if you came over while there was still a land bridge, If you were born in America you're an American, and if you were born somewhere else, you're not unless you naturalize.

I don't think they care how we because the most prosperous country in the world and nether do the people who are willing to give them the handouts. For reasons I don't understand some people in this country seem to think our Founding Fathers and the generations that came after them weren't worth listening to because they make mistakes with slavery, Indians etc. so they think it OK for someone to come here ignore our culture and stick to their own. Every new group added something to this country but they also gave up all the bad habits of the old country, something today's immigrants don't seem willing to do. they need to be willing to bend a little.

They think they are entitled to the freedoms and opportunities that we have earned through the blood, sweat, and tears of our ancestors. We are Americans and we have died for our freedoms. This is our country. If you want to come and work here then wait in line like all of the other people that respect our country, our laws, and our language. Do not think you can jump in line just because you "want a better life". You said it all.

Many of them lived a hard life, no family, horrible abuse done to them, and they wanted a way to help themselves and children to earn money and start a new life.
