my mom and i had our house appraised just a few minutes ago and the guy didn't even look at everything(we payed 500 dollars for him to appraise our house)and he said things like "this is your daughter's bedroom!?"as if it was gross and he claimed that he hates mountains(we live in the mountains!) and he "likes flat land" and then a pine needle(we live in the redwoods in California)fell on his shirt and he "had to" remove his shirt!!! he also laughed at my mom's wonderful yard work and told her that her grass sucked(it's hard to grow grass in the woods)and then kept saying that our house basically sucked and laughed at us and told us that we should see his house since our house is ugly!!! I'M REALLY ANGRY!!!!!!!!!!
we got our flooring redone, our gardening done, our septic fixed, etc and he totally insulted us!!! i think our house looks good for a Californian house!!!
i can't believe he was so rude!
how can i get a reappraisal from someone who doesn't hate us!?

What an asshole.
He gave you his personal opinion, but that's not his job as an appraiser.
Demand your money be returned, report him to his professional organization and/or the state dept that licensed him, and find a different appraiser.
Also, if someone referred him to you to use (your bank or mortgage officer or Realtor) be sure to tell that person how unhelpful you found him to be.

Comps are taken of recent homes sold with a time frame that would generally affect you appraisal. Calm down- report him for unethical behavior and as far as a new appraisal- it would would probably come in about the same price give a $ or two.

Why did you need an appraisal on your house in the first place? And why did you pay $500 for it. I think it's too much.
But honestly, you need him to deliver an appraisal report, that is the main objective. I am not saying he should act like a jerk, but why waste energy on him. You need his report. If you don't like the value he put on the appraisal report, it could actually not be his fault. Appraisals go by certain guidelines and that is how they determine the value. You may put a lot of effort into growing grass, but if the grass does not grow well in your area, and people use cobblestones instead (for example), grass in this case may actually lower the value of your house. Don't take me wrong, I am not saying he should have behaved like you describe, I am saying just take it as a business transaction. If you are satisfied with the value he put on the report, forget about him. if you are not happy with the value, call his company and ask if they would send another one, if they agree and another appraiser confirms the same value, then you have a different problem. Do not waste your energy on anger, it is not productive.

For sure! Call his office and demand that you need someone else out of that office to come give you the appraisal, if indeed he's not a sole appraisor. You have already paid for it so it would be hard to get your money back since someone did actually come perform the appraisal. Explain to them the exact same things that you explained to us...especially the part about him "having" to remove his shirt. That is totally inappropiate and unprofessional
