I don't know that there should be one.
White people are white
Black people are black
Indians are brown, etc.
When someone is not being disrespectful or derogatory with what they are saying I don't know why it is such a problem. When I come across someone who is in the hateful mind set I feel bad that they are so miserable and how hard they are trying to make me feel just as bad.I am Indian, Irish and German and I never think of what should someone call me or what names I should be mad about! I am me and as long as I am not mean or rude no one should have a problem with me or what I say.

That would vary since there are Jamaicans, Africans, Haitians, etc. I kind of refuse to use the term "African American"--not because I am racist but for the same reason I don't use the term "European American". I think we're all just Americans here regardless of what continent we originated from.

I believe the three color terms are: caucasoid, *******, and mongoloid.

I'm caucasian (white, whatever) and I don't refer to myself as european-american. I think if you are trying to descibe a person, you say things like tall, petit, fair skinned, dark hair, etc. Physical characteristics. Nationality is something else, and plenty of people are from more than one continent. I have a sri lankan friend that gets called indian, so its almost impossible to say where a person is from (africa? jamaica?)

If you are encountering black people from America, African-American is fine, although calling them black people is just fine, too. Black is easier to say and contains one syllable versus African-American, which has four syllables.

The type of person you are describing could be from any ethnic background. Sudanese, Jamaican, Hatian, Senegalese.....I could go on and on.

Do you specifically mean a person from the US?? More clarification please. Though you could never go wrong with claiming they are of the human race.

The "N" word "******" is so completely inappropriate. But calling anyone ANY name other than what is on there birth certificate is unacceptable. All people need love and care. Not disrespect and despair.

African american is widely used, although some have no family history in Africa. Hard one to answer, because no matter what you say, somone will take offense to it.
