Anyone have any brilliant answers to this poem by Martin Gardner?

Pi goes on and on and on
And e is just as cursed.
I wonder: Which is larger
When the digits are reversed?

Pi will always be the same,
And e can't be reversed,
so, needless now to wonder,
both are just as cursed.

The number pi is 3.1415.... The number e is 2.7182... The decimal form of pi and e are nonterminating and nonrepeating.

We will reverse the digits of pi and e, comparing the numbers with the same number of digits. The third column keeps track of which "reveresed" is larger for a particular number of digits.

pi @@@@@ e @@@ larger
.3 @@@@@ .2 @@ pi
1.3 @@@@ 7.2 @@ e
41.3 @@@ 17.2 @@ pi
141.3 @@ 817.2 @@ e
5141.3 @ 2817.2 @@ pi

Assume the pattern shown here continues for any number of digits, then:

If the number of digits is even, then the "reversed" e is larger than the "reversed" pi.

If the number of digits is odd, then the "reversed" pi is larger than the "reversed" e.

Interesting.

Well, I'm no math genius but isn't pi infinite? If so, you can't reverse the digits so it's a trick question.

To put pi and e backwards
Would be a very clever trick
I'm sure it would be easy
If only I wasn't thick

Neither is larger, as there is an infinity of digits.

both are unidentified.....
but if you think about it pi=3.14 and it says pi goes on 3 time so if its as tricky as you think then u would take pi times three which is 3.14*3=9.42
so if the problem went that way pi would be the answer but i doubt im right.......................

just trying....

That is impossible to see.

Both go to infinity.

Digits cannot be reversed.

There is no last number to be counted first....
