So not fair!!! I had the same thing happen to me!!! There was only one other girl and myself working that day. The next day the manager comes in yelling and all pi$$ed off. She said $50 was missing from yesterday. Then she said that she knows the other girl very well and knows she wouldn't do something like this, one she has money, and two, she has worked there longer. That made me so mad!!! I asked her why the h3ll don't they have camaras there. She said that they shouldn't have to, that they should be able to trust the employees. She never came right out and said that he thought I did it, but she let me and the other girl know that she KNEW the other girl did not take it. I didn't get suspended though, but I got treated like chit until I finally just walked out. I would definitly go to the corprate manager about it! Don't let people run over you! Good Luck Hun!

Did the money come up missing after you had your hands on it and does the tape show you taking the money?
It seems that the employer believes you to be guilty and the other guy not.
By all means, clear your name if you are innocent.
If and or when you seek employment elsewhere, you don't want to be labeled as being a thief.

Yes, but I doubt it is worth it...I would ask them what their protest process is for protesting/appealing suspensions. I assume it would go to H/R or at least a higher boss, state your case and tell them you would be willing to take a lie detector test. That shopuld give them reason to pause. They may take you up on it so don't do it unless you really are not guilty. If that doesn't get your suspension withdrawn I'd say you should move on. If you raelly want to keep your job (who would but if you have to) I'd ask to put a letter of rebutall in your employee folder. after rereading your question I see you never denied taking the money...that is the first thing i would have said...guilty as charged slime ball.

yes, call the EDD(or local labor agency) tell them you are not the only one to touch the money and if they have no proof you took it, you can expect some nice compensation. personal experience=i worked on a register and different people went in and out of my register all day getting change, the drawer was over 20 dollars and they tried to get me to sign a write up , i refused, got suspended for a week, came back to work, they fired me , i called and explained my situation, they said they will contact the company and either i will hear back from them or get a check(s) in the mail. I got the checks.

You have no control over what they do to the other employee. If you were involved, take your punishment and be content with that. Otherwise, you could end up in a far worse predicament than being simply suspended.
But if you really want to try to take it to court, talk to a lawyer and see if there's a case there. That's the only way you'll know for sure.

No!
And what money.
If it belonged to someone other than the company, I am unsure they can even suspend you. You could be charged. Just think about that.
The other got away with nothing, and he will always know what he is!

yes. it's more than unfair, it's slander against your good name, it's caused you to lose wages, and it holds the potential of future lost wages if it keeps you from getting a job. See an attorney who specializes in workplace issues, like a discrimination attorney (even if this isn't discrimination).

You said "ALSO" had his hands on it. You should be fired. Never mind what the other guy did. Maybe, he brings more value to the company than you do. Or, maybe it's not your business what conversation they had him. Or, just maybe he's planted at the company to catch theives.

Awww, cmon, I can tell by the way you phrased your sentence that you're the culprit. And now, instead of taking your punishment, you want to sue?? Stand up and take it like a man!

Your actions and your punishment are your business. The rest may be fair or unfair, depending on the circumstances, but it isn't your affair.
