I can't remember if it is called a condenser or a compressor, but its that fan thing outside the house. Can I build a deck above one? How high above it can the deck floor be?

I can't tell from your question if the fan is discharging vertically or horizontally. If horizontally just leave enough room to work on it as long as you are sure you will never want to replace it with a vertical discharge unit. If the present fan is a vertical discharge, three feet would be a minimum. Recirculation of discharge air through the condenser coil and reduced volume of air through the condenser coil can cause you real problems. If the deck is high enough to require stairs, that is often a good place.

12 inches min and remember where the condenser is it is going to be alot warmer on deck

there should be at least three feet so that if you ever need to replace fan,which you will, there will be enough room to remove it without having to dismantle your deck.....went to work on one unit not long ago...had to remove part of decking and one 2x6 to get fan out...

I would say a min. of 3'-0", do you still have the spec's on it, maybe go on line or just call an HVAC co. to be sure

About 5x3. Do not interfere with the air flow. It is needed on two sides.
