who has used an iud? umm how quick does it work or do u have to wait a week to have sex? is it effective right away!!!

They are effective pretty much right away but i would wait a couple of days you will have some spotting of blood for the first few months then you should be ok and it depends i have mirena and i have had it for almost a year and i have no more periods

i cannot remember how long it took to be effective. I had one and loved it after the 1st 3 months. I bled the first 3 months, but after that it was great.
I would look it up on the internet. to be safe, i would use a condom. if you aren't married you should use a condom anyway for stds.

It starts to work immediately. But to get more assuring answer, u may want to speak with your doctor. But for most women, it's immediate, just like wearing a condom by a man

i have had mine in for almost 2 years, i dont think i had to wait at all to have sex, the first few days were very uncomfortable so you probably wont be thinking about having sex anyway, i really like it bc i dont have a period anymore, its worked so far for me.
