Is it because she's Italian-American?

Well, I know several Italian-Americans who feel offended and feel the problem is because of her ethnic background.

They are both men and women.
Where I live,there is a large Italian-American community.
Some of my co-workers claim if she was a man and a white anglo-saxon Protestant, everybody would be okay with her.

Considering that the people who hate her most probably never heard of her before last November, it's especially ridiculous.

She IS very liberal. All anyone has to say is that she's too liberal for their tastes. But no, they have more fun villifying.

It's old, isn't it.

It's because she's a Democrat and the Democrats won the majority. I remember during the Reagan/Bush I administration GOP pundits were claiming that they would hang onto the White House for decades. When an extremely popular Clinton won, it drove them batty. What'd they spend on investigating everything his family did for the previous 25 years? I think it was about $42 million. And what did they come up with? A soiled dress! They couldn't stand the guy. Went so far as accusing him of murder. They smugly thought they had the same hold on Congress. It drives them crazy when the majority of Americans vote Democratic!

Chula,

Stop with the division stuff - "female", "Italian". A very minute portion of the country may attack her because of her sex or nationality. The rest of the folks will judge her on her abilities and actions. Truth? A lot of folks just don't like her - she is a rabid partisan, calling for bipartisanship in one sentence and condemning the opposition with the other. Many Catholics don't appreciate her pushing the 'religion' factor, praising her Catholic faith. On the other hand she is totally for abortion, an act banned by the Catholic Church. You can't have it both ways. Her trip to Syria, announcing a breakthrough in Iraq that wasn't fact at all - this is disconcerting to many people. I am neither Republican nor Democrat - I vote for the person. Truthfully, I would not vote for her were she running in my district.

reason they could't settle for a woman with capability, or that a woman in capability ought to certainly have brains as nicely as charm and guile plus she embodies that grandmotherly "i comprehend greater effective than you what is desirable for you" ingredient, previous merely the irritating habit all liberals have of being that thank you to no longer point out she's nevertheless warm at sixty 9

I could care less about her ethnicity and the fact that she is a woman. The reason I don't like her personally is because the way she undermines the president. Additionally, it seems like she is actively trying to turn this country against itself. How is that ever good??? As far as her political views, I don't agree with them. I personally don't believe in abortion, but I won't judge a person who does, because that's his or her right. Therefore, while I don't support many of the things she does, it has nothing to do with my dislike for her as a person.

I do not dislike her because of her sex or ethnic background...I dislike her politics... I like intelligent women, that is why I married my wife...I really doubt Nancy's intelligence sometimes...if you look at the Legislation she has support and the crooked things she has done...it is hard to like her...only reason many Liberals like her is because she is anti-war and anti-Bush...if she does not end the war like she promised the Liberals will turn on her like a Piranha on a wounded fish...

I don't like her because a man was found with about 70k in a refrigerator that was from bribes, who she tried to prosecute...and then later promoted him to some board for democrats...this man was indigted(spelling)...and she headed the charge then later did this...she is very indecisive...flip floppy...she thinks she knows what americans want...but she really has no clue...americans do not want criminals in public office...

no, because she is a hypocritical, surrender, liberal. Her actions define her.

No matter her race, ethinicity,, or male / female

Add: Hey Truth... The question nor my answer had hate in it only you projected that term. She is hypocritical because she says she supports the troops but San Fran bans recruiters from schools, did not want a battleship parked as a museum and most importantly she gave Murtha a leadership position after he accuses Marines of cold-blodded murder before they were charged nevermind convicted.

FYI I never listen to Rush, nor Hannity on the radio. I occassionally see H&C when I channel scan but no more than I watch CNN and MSNBC

So you look pretty foolish whenever you are so dismissive of people that do not agree with you. I have my reasons for having a problem with Nancy Pelosi being the Speaker of the House would you like more of them?

It is because she is a strong woman, with strong views that go contrary to what is popular on talk radio and television these days. In addition, in my opinion, the religious right demonizes anyone who offers differering opinions, or opposes their agenda.

Jealousy that she is using the power of oversight like her predecessor refused to do. Some will do or say about anything to protect their precious Dubya.
