any number can satisfy this because you have not completed the equation. You must have a complete equation to solve for an unknown variable such as x^2=100

x^2 will equal the +/- square root of its solution. i.e.

x^2 = 16
x = +/- 4

x^2 = 15
x = +/- square root of 15
