Vietnam's hot, moist climate is home to elephants, bears, tigers and leopards as well as some smaller animals like monkeys, squirrels, and otters. Reptiles such as crocodiles, snakes and lizards can be found that prosper in Vietnam.

Other notable species include:
Cat Ba langur
spotted deer
yellow macaque

Vietnam is filled with all kinds of strange and interesting wildlife, which to my eyes felt like I was on a different planet.

I'm an equestrian, and I was disappointed to see their native horse standing at about half the size of the horses I have in the U.S. They looked ugly and weren't worth the effort to saddle.

Water buffalo must number in the tens of millions in Vietnam. Everywhere you look is a water buffalo, and they're used for everything.

Cobras, tigers and Asian bears are native to Vietnam, and they are not something you want to bump into when lost in the jungle there.

There are many dozens of different kind of monkeys in Vietnam. Big ones, small ones, fat ones, skinny ones - I'm sure you can find the monkey of your liking there.

There is no way that I or anyone else can list all of the Vietnam native animals here, because no one really know how many there could be. However, I do know a place where you can see a bunch of them.

Saigon has a pretty good zoo that contains many animals native to Vietnam that are endangered or protected. They have a half-dozen Asian elephants there who are living history. Most of those elephants were there during the fall of Saigon. It's worth the afternoon to visit if you are ever in Saigon.

Hope this helps!

Sorry about the horses are not big enough for you. Yes, they're not on steroid.

I'm so disappointed that they don't have tigers here in the US. The biggest ones they have are fat cats. :-)

By the way, they don't have sweet juicy mangos here in the US either. What a huge disappointment.

C'mon, each country has different type of animals. You can't compare why certain countries don't have the animals that you prefer.

In Michigan, we have Purple Loofstrife and Garlic Mustard plants. The loofstrife is taking over the wetlands...it's beautiful (big purple flowers), but none of the wetland plants can compete with it. The GM is overtaking everything else. They think they may have found a beetle that is partial to Purple Loofstrife. We also have the Emerald Ash Borer, killing off Ash trees.

I think you should go to a search engine and ask that question. There would be to many different animals to list here.
