maybe your friend means 20Q? It's a website but you can buy a game of it, it "reads your mind" by asking you 20 questions then tells you what you were thinking of
or maybe it's this weird thing I found once on bored.com where you think of a number look at the picture then it shows you what picture was on the number you were looking at (but it cheats by swapping pictures around lol!)
unless your friend made it up! good luck finding it :)

Nothing can, like, read your mind. That is a superstition. It is either a trick, or a result of weak psychological cognitive ability on the part of the website viewer.
