Computer had viruses now has no sound, not on mute. Help?!?

Question

Had my computer guy *clean* and debug my hard drive and now I have no sound at all. All volume setting are on and so are the speakers. If you can help, speak really slow and simple. I am totally techically challenged. Computer guy mentioned drivers but what is that?

Click Start
Right Click on My Computer
Select Manage
Choose 'Device Manager'
Goto 'Sound, Video & Game Controllers'
Right Click on your audio device
'Update driver software'

A driver is a software that allows your computer to talk to your sound card. Go to the web site of the manufacturer of your computer and look up your make and model. They should have a free download for an "audio driver", or a "sound card driver". (Different names for same thing).

Download and install the software and you should have sound again.

drivers are kind of softwares we need for proper functioning of hardwares ..anyways u told us that u r new to computers ..so what we can do is if u can figure out what kind of sound card ur using ..if u dont know how to do
go to www.belarc.com and download belarc advisor ..it will tell u everything about ur computer ...then tell me the name of sound card u r using ..we will try to find some drivers for ur sound card ...

RIGHT CLICK THE ICON ``MY COMPUTER`` THEN CHOOSE PROPERTIES FROM MENU.THE FOLLOWIN IS GOIN 2 THE HARDWARE TAB
ONCE THERE OPEN DEVICE MANAGER ,WHERE U GONNA SEE AL THE DEVICES ATTACHED 2 UR PC,. IN ORDER 2 FIX IT. NOW UR PC GUY IS SUPPOSED 2 GIVE U UR PC UP AND RUNNIN ,U JUST NEED THE DRIVERS,LIKE A CAR NEEDS A DRIVER ,THE SAME WAY UR SOUND CARD DEVICE NEEDS 1.TELL THAT LAMER 2 FIX IT.
