You can open the mail in either a second Internet Explorer Windows, or if you are using IE 7, in another IE tab.
If you forget to open a new window, you can usually keep pressing the "Back" arrow until you get back to the page with the question.

Open a new window or tab and then go to the email site. When finished just close the window or tab and you are back where you started.
CTRL N will open a new window.
CTRL T will open a new tab.
The result is the same. It just depends if your are more comfortable using windows or tabs.
BTW: When you are answering questions and don't want to lose your place just middle click on the link. A new tab will open with the question. Answer it and then close the tab and you are back to the list.

if you constantly recieve mail and u need to go back and forth, i suggest you open your mail in a different browser, i.e. open a new internet explorer or mozilla browswer and keep checking
if ur using mozilla you can open a new tab in the same window, just go the file menu and choose ne tab,
this way u can keep checking mail and answering questions at the same time.

you don't even have to check your mail first. you can just sign into Yahoo! Answers, click on your profile and scroll down. there will be tabs labeled "My Questions" and "My Answers..." etc. click on the "My Questions" tab and it'll list the 5 most recent questions you've asked. click on the one you want to see any answers.

dont do it through checking your email, check it through your profile.
just click your profile and a little ways down there will be an area with tabs that allow you to monitor questions you've asked as well as answered.
