Daughter has had diabetes since she was 9 1/2 and is now studying at college for A' levels. Have just got back results from DWP saying that she is not able to have any disability living allowance at all. She is under special needs at college and is taken there every day and home again. To lose £166 a month is going to be a big blow to her as it helps buy her food, which is specific to her dietary needs. Why I wonder have they cut her off completely? Has anyone else come across this from the DWP recently and are there any precedence known?

appeal straight away, before its too late.

You need to be able to prove that the diabetes affects her day to day life.

you basiclly have to tell them EVERYTHING about how it affects youre daughter, even if you think its irrelevant.

Also getting a medical sick note, or some specialist to write stuff helps aswell.

You know the part of the form that says 'is there anything else you want to tell us' - write as much as possible here. Use extra paper if you need to.

Dont let youre appeal time run out, cause if you have to reapply it takes 11 weeks!!!!!!

Also, theres no harm in exagerating as much as humanly possible - but i never said that!!!

p.s. the citizens advice can help. Thats who did my form, as my mate works there.

I'm a 45 year old woman and was recently diagnosed as being a borderline diabetic. My doctor prescribed some medication, but before filling it I decided to do some research on the internet which led me to the methods. After reading this ebook and applying the methods, my scepticism turned to 100% belief. I noticed that my energy levels increased significantly and I felt more rested in the morning, my symptoms started going away.

I am very happy to tell you that I have been feeling better than I have felt in years and my doctor informed me that he will be taking me off my prescriptions if I keep this up.

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

Many common natural remedies are claimed to have blood sugar lowering properties that make them useful for people with or at high risk of diabetes. Learn here https://tr.im/n8mVb

A number of clinical studies have been carried out in recent years that show potential links between herbal therapies and improved blood glucose control, which has led to an increase in people with diabetes using these more 'natural' ingredients to help manage their condition.

Stay calm every things going to be alright. Contact social serves they can take the first step in helping you, then contact the unemployment office, for now try and get a fast food job ( Mcdonalds, Burger King, ect.) this will ensure that you get a small amout of money to support your family. I'd talk to your 16yr. old she can legally get job, explain to her why you need the money. If she says no offer to split the pay check. Continue to hunt for jobs. If you're married talk to your spouse about getting a job unless they're already working ( though this part is pretty clear.) Stay calm & good luck

As a few people have said appeal the decision, as soon as you can. Every one has the right of appeal, but be sure to have as much supporting medical information, from her regular doctor and specialist, also include school assistance that is or maybe required. Be sure to include any other medical conditions she has too e.g asthma.

Does she have brittle diabetes? Which causes the blood sugar to drop rapidly, for no rhyme nor reason. If so are they aware of this?

Good luck

If she was on DLA before, she should still be eligible. The trouble is that DLA is for care needs, that is, your daughter's need of someone to care for her, and is not intended to pay for a special diet. Your best bet is to appeal, but there's a time limit: go to your local Welfare Rights office or Citizens' Advice, who will send in the appeal and represent you at the tribunal hearing, and their services are free (usually paid for by the local Council).

Diabetes isn't considered a disability in the United States at all unless the individual is not capable of controlling it with diet and medication.
