lay them across your lap on their tummy and rock your legs back and forth, hold them and swing side to side, go for a ride in the car, put them in a warm tub, lay them in their crib on tummy and pat their bottom, jiggle-swing-and bounce. We've all tried it all! Good Luck!

The Happiest Baby on the Block
Dr. Karp's techniques, the Five S's—swaddling, side/stomach, shushing, swinging, and sucking.
Swaddle- tight and right. If you don't do it the right way the baby will wiggle out.
Side/Stomach- place the baby in the side or stomach position
Shushing- LOUDLY and close to the ear, the baby is loud and upset they can't hear a noise meant for the library, loud!
Swinging- Babies love this movement, hold on to them, you might have to move a bit wildly to get them calm
Sucking- your clean finger or theirs, bottle or paci whatever works
Use all above or in combination with eachother until something works. It will be almost immeadiate.
They should teach this stuff in school. It works wonders. Get the book!
Good luck

Baths are good, when he was really small i used to swing him in his car seat back and forth- quite hard.
My baby loves keys and and loves his bear - he's just over 1 now.
Its a well known fact babies love to fall asleep on a beer belly that smells of ciggies and drink (we don't smoke around him though).
He falls asleep in the car so as a last resort I have taken him for a late night drive.
When I switch the Hoover on he often falls asleep.
Sometimes he has napped during the day and I just have to play with him - tickling and blowing raspberries on his tummy is good and tires him out quite quickly.

it may be a gas issue. try the others suggestions but if you have some baking soda wet the nipple with the milk a little bit and get some of the baking soda in it and give the baby the bottle. do n't allow to drink whole bottle and try to burp baby and rock for a while.

baby's need to feel secure, wrap the baby in a blanket, snug, like they did at the hospital.. if he/she is bigger, u never said the age.. just hold him/her.. be relaxed, try not to be tense urself and not sure of the proper word for it.. but "shushing" really really works.. still does for my son and he's three and a half.. but when he's tired and grumpy and havin hard time settling him to sleep or just to calm down.. i will hold him, carress his head and just keep goin "sshhhhhhh" calmly near his ear, they say the louder they are cryin the louder u shhhhhh.. read it in one of the parenting books.. sorry can't remember which.. but it does work.. the softer the cry, the softer u sshhhhhhhh.. just take time and keep urself calm as well..

Feed the baby, change the baby, hold the baby, use a pacifier, burp the baby, Play music, or those womb sounds, put the baby in one of those seats that swings or vibrates a little.
If all fails, Please consult with your doctor before giving medicine.

This is odd, but it always works for me and it worked on me when I was a baby, I learned this from my mother. Running your finger from the top of the nose to the bottom repeatedly and softly always calms them down, or at least it works for me when I do it. Good luck, tyr it, hope it works, it may take a minute.

I wrap my baby up in a nice soft blanket and cuddle him. I usually check if he is hungry or gassy first. Then i sit and cuddle with him. Maybe hum him a nice lullaby.
It also depends on how old the baby is. Mine is only 2 weeks old.

they are cranky because they are tired and don't know how to tell you they are tired so they scream. wrap the baby up and rock them in a rocker. or a bath with some lavender soap. or just singing to them or if you can't sing you can always play music. my boys like dave mathews and coldplay.

You can try massaging baby with essential oil -lavender, has soothing qualities.
You can hold baby close, hum songs/lullabies, rock slowly.
Take a break, change 'carer' -if you're too stressed yourself, chances are baby can feel it too -hence cranky.
Good luck....most of all, relax.
