Scientific studies have shown that marijuana use does not affect an athletes behavior, if taken in moderation.
Marijuana is not as harmful as Meth, crack, or heroin. The effects are short term, and may actually reduce the pain from football injuries. (See Medicinal Use)
Legalize it ! Reefer Madness, Baby !!!

A lot of people don't know that Ricky Williams has been taking Meds for depression for a few years. I think that the weed helping him with the depression is battling with Ricky's desire to play football. He says weed helps him let go of nervousness that he has been dealing with his entire life. I hope and prey that Ricky gets his life in order. Not for football but for Ricky the person. Than maybe he can play some football.

Because much like our "reefer madness" friend who answered earlier, people who smoke weed religiously do not think it's drug. That is what they have told themselves to legitimize their addiction. I have a family member who has let his addiction to weed ruin his life for 13 years so I definitely understand why Ricky Williams can't let go. If he doesn't make the choice to change then he will always be a waste of talent like he is now.

Let me preface any thing I say here by declaring that I am a Dolphin fan! That being said Ricky Williams is an addict and cannot help what he does.He is compelled by his addiction to do something that is without a doubt not a good career move!

It's called "addiction." As an alum and season ticket holder for 37 years of The University of Texas, I am embarrassed by Ricky.

You don't have to be a rocket scientist to play football. You have to spend all that money on something. Ricky chose weed.

Because Ricky is confused about what lifestyle he wants to live. If I was him I would choose good ole' football and not waste all that talent he has or did have.

Its simple. He loves to get blunted. He's like any other drug addict, he wants the drugs more than anything else. More than millions of dollars, more than fame, more than anything. It sickens me to think someone like him actually played for my New Orleans Saints. If Goddell can suspend Pacman for a year for "making it rain" he should suspend Ricky forever for "making it blaze"

He is a dope, just like all these other players who continue to get in trouble. If you ask me this is his 5th offence and he should be banned from the league.
