I dont speak english but I think that I can help you

1.4x + 6.94 = -3.70 the 6.95 its add to 1.4x then reduce in both terms

1.4x = -3.70 - 6.94, now we need to clear x then as 1.4 is multiplying to x we dividen between 1.4 both terms

x = (-3.70 -6.94)/1.4 and with a pocket computer you can to find the value for x

1.4x+6.94= -3.70 first you need to isolate the variable..
You do that by taking a -6.94 from both sides
1.4x+ 6.94 = -3.70
-6.94 -6.94 which leaves you w/..
1.4x = -10.64 divide both sides by 1.4
x= -7.6

well move the 6.94 to the other side of the equals so it becomes negative : 1.4x = -10.64
then move the 1.4 to the other side and as its multplying the x it will change to become dividing by so then you'll have

x = -10.64/1.4 which = -7.6!

hope i helped xxx

1.4x + 6.94 = – 3.70
1.4x = – 3.70 - 6.94
1.4 x = – 10.64
x = – 10.64 / 1.4
x = – 7.6

subtract 6.94 from each side of the equal sign to move it to the oppostie side
1.4x+6.94=-3.70
-6.94=-6.94 (on the left it cancels out)
------------------------------
1.4x=-10.64(divide by 1.4 to find value of x)
------- ---------
1.4 1.4 (again on the left it cancels out)
x=-7.6

i hope i helped --good luck

Yes... they have given you the right answer....but you can't always ask someone for help...
Does your school offer extra help? Maybe you should talk to you teacher? Some school systems have a program where high school kids will come help you in math/science/english....and they will get credit or they might even be part of a volunteer program...one of the best things you can do for yourself if not to skip out on studying over the summer....even just a one hour a week refresher course will help you stay on top of things for next year...because unfortunately it is only going to get HARDER! :0)
