Fuses usually don't puff smoke when they blow....I would look in the general area of where he saw the smoke and examine the wires or relays very carefully for any signs of being burnt...He probably grounded a power wire somewhere and shorted the circuit out..........Paul

He obviously blew some type of fuse or relay. If the electric clutch does not operate the ac compressor, check this circuit. Or take to a competent mechanic.

There is an easy way to find out if you blew out the A/C clutch.

take two wires Pos/Neg and run them from the wire clips on the compressor to their coresponding poles on the battery. this way you directly wire the battery to the A/C compressor essentially.

If the clutch engages then you must of just blown a fuse.

It sounds like there's a short somewhere. Is there not an owners manual with that thing? You might try contacting a Volvo dealership and see if you can get one somehow.

Was he high at the time? If so, the puff of smoke was him exhaling a hit.

The people in your town will not miss having him pull up at red lights and blast his music into the cars of others, that's for sure.

I hope it never gets fixed.
