Go to your local mental health office. They are NOT allowed to turn you away, and will qualify you for low income payments, free services, or medical.

Check the county mental health. Also any universities with mental health degree programs will take patients to work with therapists working on their doctorates

Both should charge according to your income.

Also try churches. Many large churches have counseling programs too.

do a search for sliding scale psychologists- they advertise in the phone book too. They charge based on what you can afford.

If any of these options aren't working, try your church. Many pastorial counselors have training, but make sure they are trained.

If they don't provide services, they can refer you to someone.
