Roger Clemens is an opportunist. He enjoys being wanted and he enjoys when $$$$ is thrown at him. I'm a huge Yankee fan and I knew this about him before he got here and after he left. He went to the team who paid him the most...would you do any different. And as far as the Astros go...none of their fans were complaining when he retired from the Yankees only to play like 3 more years. The Yanks gave him a HUMMER!! So consider payback a *****...he screwed both teams.

Clemens is not a back stabber he's simply doing what you or I would do.Going where the money is and where his friends are.Petite could be considered like his closest friend so that has alot to do with his move.Plus he's had a great career.Won some WS rings.Theres nothing left for him accept for looking for some kind of challenge. In this case its bringing the Yankees back from the brink of a disasterous season.I don't think that makes him a sellout.I'd think it was shady if he went with the Red Sox just becuase they looked like they were in the best position to win it all this year and thats come from a Red Sox fan.I would love to have had Clemens but i have a lot of respect for him for not taking the easiest road and taking on the challenge of trying to help out a club that needs it most.

Last year, I left a job that I liked because another company offered me about $60K more per year. I liked the job I was it, but money certainly makes life a heck of a lot easier, and it wasn't a decision that took long to make.

There are tons of examples like this in the real world, and I know many friends who have switched jobs based almost exclusively on money. So why, in a business as cutthroat as baseball where owners will hang you out to dry as soon as you can't produce, does Clemens take such heat? I don't understand.

If teams are offering the money, then Roger would be a fool not to accept.

The Astros had a chance at signing him again. They didn't offer as much money. Also, I think he's sick of having to throw a nearly perfect game to get a win for Houston. They can't score for their lives and were at their worst at the plate when he was pitching. The run support he'll get in NY was a big part of his decision. So was his best freind Andy Pettite being on the Yankees roster.

He's a business man! He took the money! He also thinks that his chances of getting another ring are better with the Yankees then the Stros! But it will be funny when the Yanks don't even make the playoffs and the Stros go to the series! LOL Watch and see!

He's not doing anything to the Astros that he didn't already do to the Yankees. Retired from the Yankees, went to the Astros, retired and now is back with the Yankees.

Now now... Houston fans are just upset because Clemens did the same thing to them that he did to the Yankees when he left to go to Houston... How does it feel to be on the other side of the coin??? Not that nice is it??? That's life...

No! he's no backstabber, youre thinking about OJ Simpson! Rocket is a business man, just as this "game" has become a "business". Theres no loyalty anymore Virginia, just like theres no Santa Claus. But, as long as theres a market for him, theres money to be made. I say "Go Rocket"!!! You have my vote for President! LOL!
