I think i deserve best answer on each question ive answered so far, (lol)..but does everybody do this to get best answer, or do u all just do it just to ask/answer and not worry if ur chosen best or not? know what i mean?

its always nice to succeed in something - but i mostly just participate...afterall, the purpose of this service is to help people, and im content with trying to do that....i have ZERO best answers, BTW - lol

It depends on the question. Sometimes I just feel the need to make my opinions heard, and I really could care less if other's answers are better. At other times, I genuinely strive to answer the person's question as best I can. Like now, for instance. ;) Or when someone's having a technical problem, or some relationship problem.
Generally if I read a question that appears to be intelligently worded and sincerely asked, I'll reciprocate. Questions that are borderline illegible or that aren't even really questions at all will incur my sarcastic wrath! :D

Usually I just answer the questions that are interesting. Most of the questions I answer I don't intend on getting best answers for unless it is something I know a lot about.

The points don't really seem to give you anything except the ability to answer more questions in a day and (at the second level) rate individual answers with a thumbs-up or thumbs-down. For me, at least, I'm just trying to help people expand their knowledge.
But best answers are a good morale boost to continue doing it.

I think we all just do this to get the answers to out questions.. I mean I don't do it to get the best answer things but to get the answers to the questions I have!

I think most people just do this for fun and/or to pass time and getting ten points for a best answer is just a perk (people like me).
However, you do have those people who take this site way too seriously and hate the people on here who just want to pass time.

I just do it to pass the time while I am working in tech support, since it gets boring at times. I just signed up with Yahoo Answers yesterday, so I am still at level 1.

I always thought I should have a higher percentage of best answers but I don't think I can change that now, 3% is really low :(
Oh yeah, and please don't change your avatar. If I ever ask a question and you answer it I'll be sure to pick you as best answer.
