Ohhh, that just ticks me off!!! I feel the same as you. They are calling, so why do they think they have the right to ask who you are?!
Or I have this one idiot stick that calls my house all the time asking for Shelly. I know exactly who he is talking about. Our phone numbers are almost identical, except the last two numbers are switched. One night, he called 3 times in a row before he finally figured out I was serious when I told him that he had the wrong number! I finally said "Put the CORRECT number in your contacts you moron! Quit calling my house!"

lol i knew that was going to be your question before i clicked to read the rest yes i hate that it irks me bad but i always just say you called me who is this i cant say to much though because there have been times where i have called someone and didn't recognize who answered the phone and asked that same thing i guess that makes me a hypocrite lol

You should hang up immediately if this happens. Not just because it's rude, but because someone may be just trying to get information from you to steal your identity or use your name to apply for credit cards. I don't know about the UK, but here in the US, we have this thing called "caller id". If I don't recognize the number that's calling me, I just don't answer at all.

Yeah, they start that "who's this" b.s. and I'm like "Who do you want it to be since it's obviously not who you meant to call?!" I get a lot of people calling late at night asking if it's the club, and at that hour they're liable to get a crazy answer from me.

OMG! That is like my biggest phone pet peeve! I always answer with "Who do you want me to be?". I work at a school, and I get that all the time!

When someone calls me like that, I turn around and ask them the same thing. I let them know, since they suddenly forgot, that they called me, not vice versa!!!
