1. While it is normal for people to feel tired, it can also be caused by other things, for instance, and iron deficiency.
2. You should be taking prenatal vitamins. If you go to the doctor, they will usually give you a bottle. They are also available in a drug or grocery store.
3. Take some Tums (has calcuim too!) for the nausea and eat all the time. Don't eat a lot at a time, just enough so that you're never really hungry enough to eat a huge meal.
4. I always suck on a clove when I have a toothache. Leave it near or on the tooth that hurts and keep it in your mouth for atleast an hour or so.
5. Calcuim, like so many vitamins & minerals, is best absorbed through natural sources. Broccoli has a lot of calcium! There is milk, cheese, yogurt, icecream, etc too.

oh i have been there and im so glad im done. i dont want to tell u it gets better. ur body is basically adjusting to the increase in hormones and getting ready for baby. you can take calcium tablets and u can also get the orange juice with more calcium. and if its ur prenatal vitamins making u sick u can always take flintstone vitamins (2 of those equal up to the amount of folic acid u need for the day). to ease sickness u could try ginger or get some preggos pops. i ate smarties everyday for the first trimester. sour helps. i hope this helped u out a lil bit. GOOD LUCK!

Keep with the folic acid until you go to see your DR. He will give you a better prenatal vitamin to take. As for the being tired all the time, most women see that ending after the 12th week, so there's something for you to look forward to in the coming weeks!

I'm 39, I have children 15 and 12. I'm now 11 weeks pregnant and feel just the same, 24/7 nausea/vomitting and tiredness. I wake in the morning and I feel just like I've worked a night shift. I'm looking forward to the day my sickness stops.
Re. vitamins, best thing to do is see your gp.
Good luck and congratulations

It's important you take prenatal vitamins, not just folic acid.
I'm 6 weeks and I feel the same symptoms you are having. Hang in there!

I know that feeling. I am pregnante for the second time and I am NOT SICK!!!!!! I am shocked I kept waiting for it come, but it hasn't so far...lol.
I use to carry a package of salted crackers and keep some beside my bed for when i woke up.... but for I even got up I would have a couple and lay there for a bit. Maybe try to set your alarm clock earlier and just lay there for a bit.
your already 8 weeks and most peoples end in the 3 month... you are getting closer... Look forward to it. I really enjoyed my second trimester

Take TUMS for calcium... and I would just go to a health food store for your prenatals... get capsules not tablets... capsules disolve better, you get more out of them... Good Luck and CONGRATS!
