I put a wireless card in a laptop at work and am trying to connect it to the network. The router ignores it because of an encryption key missmatch "Possible encryption key missmatch between interface and station" Other computers can get on fine. This computer can also use the network if it's hardwired. I can't ping or see anything when i use wireless. So no internet no network. I've also re-entered our wep many times to make sure it was correct. Any suggestions?

Yeah thanks for the ideas. it's wep & 26 digits long i think. I've tried entering it many times. it's also 128 bit. I think the router and wireless card aren't getting along. we tried it on another computer and got the same thing. we're going to try and switch to a different brand i'll let you know if that works.

I have netgear too.
Have you tried unplugging the router for a couple min and plugging it back in? so simple, but it works.
or maybe it's more than that.

It sounds like you need to re-enter the encryption key. Is it WPA or WEP. This happens when your code and the router code don't match. Try deleting the connection and then reset using the correct network key phrase or code.

Check if you have the right encryption. WPA uses 8-63 characters. If its WEP, check if the router uses 64-bits or 128-bits. Just match what the router has.
