The short answer is no. It sounds like the sole purpose of this would be so he could get out of child support.

You can't do that and the court will not sever parental rights without a good reason. YOU and your HUSBAND are the ones divorcing, not the CHILDREN. He's their father!!

My ex is only a check that I receive every month, he hasn't seen, phoned or written to our daughter in over 8 years. He agreed to give up his parental rights when I asked (I don't need his money if he's not going to be a father), but the state (Iowa) would not allow it without someone else taking parental responsibility besides myself. You might want to ask an attorney in Kentucky.

Anyone can give up their parental rights. What this means is that he no longer has any entitlement to make decisions on their behalf, benefit from them in any way, or have visitation rights. By doing this, he also will no longer be entitled to pay child support. By doing so, this allows your children to be adopted without his consent in the future.
