Here's the reasoning behind that suggestion. Male sperm are faster swimmers that female sperm. So it stands to reason that the closer you get them to the egg to begin with the more likely they will be the eventual "winner" in the race to fertilize the egg. That's the same reasoning behind suggesting that if you want a girl you should have sex a couple of days before you ovulate, because female sperm live longer than male sperm.

Basically, male sperm are faster, but they also die faster. Female sperm are slower, but also stronger and live longer, so the idea is that the deeper the penetration, the closer the sperm gets to the egg, and the boys have a better chance while if penetration was more shallow, the boys will have died off before they could make the long journey and the hardier girls would then reach the egg first.
It's not a perfect science, but if you really want one or the other, it's worth a try!

i'm kinda in a similar boat...yet my obgyn reported to make an appointment together with her after i'm a week previous due...I relatively have a 28-30 day cyle and that i ovulated on the 18th of march.oh and Pre stuff can in spite of the undeniable fact that get you pregnant. She instantaneous me to take a house pregnacy attempt the week of my era if i ought to now no longer wait the week.

I don;t recall teh details but one sex sperm is said to swim faster and live longer. Although I really think going through all of that is a waste of time.
