We don't deserve good things, we feel so inadequate and guilty for the big mistakes in life.
We are only used to self punishment, not reward. If something or someone good comes to us, "Don't do it, it must be a trap, too good to be true, Gotta think about this a bit more before accepting ?"
And then the opportunity passes by and we are left in the dust again.
We can't be happy, because then we feel some hurt, why didn't this happen sooner ? What have I done to my life ?

For some, it is probably because those good things are few and far between. With that said, however, we cannot allow ourselves to drown in self-pity and depression...we must create and/or envision our own happiness for it to be possible.

Many children are taught from an early age that they don't deserve good things in life. If the proper therapy isn't applied, that idea will never be squashed.

It's because of human nature. We are never satisfied for long, no matter what we have. It takes great restraint and discipline to accept what we have and be happy with our blessings.

don't know what you're talking about. take the good things in happiness, and the bad things in stride, and then move on. end of story.
