I wonder if you could own or visit an exotic animal as pups like panthers, jaguars, or even baby tigers?

Everyone wants a baby animal. They're not as cute when they grow up. This is true from anything to baby fish, to baby snakes, to baby tigers, to baby dogs. I suggest you look into volunteering at a local zoo or aquarium. You can usually sign up with their animal husbandry department for different shifts. They will train you and you will get to spend time taking care of all kinds of animals. Alternately, ask an exotic animals veterinarian if they know anyone who could certify you as an animal rehabber. I'm not sure what steps you would have to take, but it's a huge commitment financially and in terms of time.
I got started in my career by volunteering at the local aquarium, now I work with exotics every day. Even though I immensley enjoy these animals, I know they are fragile and needs lots of tender loving care. I would NEVER take one into my home unless I had the time and money to dedicate to it, even for a short amount of time.

I don't recommend exotics as pets, even for a short period of time.

Many communities won't allow them - even farm animals have ordinances against them.

Exotics are prone to illnesses (and can carry illnesses) that "regular" vets don't have the training for. Reptiles, for example, carry salmonella.

Exotics haven't been studied the way domestic animals have been so there's not a lot of background information regarding behavior, longevity, feed, etc.

Suggest volunteering at the local zoo or exotic vet if you want experience.

Yes, you can own them for a short period of time. How short depends of fast they catch you, and either fine you or jail you. And it would be short.

The Fish and Game have a tipster hotline where they pay money for people squealing on you. And probably the clerks at the pet shop would report you when you went in for panther or tiger food! Or your neighbors would when your exotics ate all their pets! Or maybe your neighborhood butcher, when you bought 100 lbs of raw meat a week!

You could perhaps visit them in a zoo or rehab. center for exotics, but usually owning one is illegal or requires special permits. The animals you listed should NOT be kept as pets- there are idiots out there who keep tigers as pets, and every few year someone gets maimed or killed by these 'cute' kitties.

people buy exotic animals all the time... Its so unfair to the animals... I take in very few unwanted exotics... my limit is up.. w/ a domestic skunk, a domestic raccoon and a coatimundi... the owners of these animals did own an exotic for a short period of time.. they decided for whatever reason they didnt want them anymore... hmm.. I wonder why!!! lol

I love them all.. and they all live in the home w/ me.. no one is caged.. but I cant rescue them all..

yeah, please to stick to visiting at the zoo. :)
these animals truely belong in the wild.

No you can't. These animals typically bond with only one person, so moving homes is very traumatic and many never rebond. You can possibly volunteer at a sanctuary though and spend some time with these animals.

puppy monkeys are unlawful in California. you could in elementary terms get a enable in case you're qualified handler who works with an authorized zoo or animal facility. you could now no longer very own them in private properties as pets.
