Well it is possible that her water broke and the baby's head is plugging the hole, so only a little bit would come out, Maybe she should go to the Dr. Also not all pee is yellow. It depends on how much water she drinks. I drink nothing but water and my pee is clear. Anything is a possibility!

It's certainly possible, and kind of hard to parse out when it's intermittent and when it's normal to have increased discharge anyway. There are some providers that are starting to feel that a lot of preterm birth could have been precipitated by amniotic sack ruptures and subsequent infection, leading to premature labor. But, remember that the fetus is making the amniotic fluid with their kidneys after the kidneys are formed - so it's continually being manufactured and even with leaking fluid there is always more (and the excess is absorbed by your body). Low amniotic fluid is an indication about the fetus's kidney health, not so much about leaking fluid.

I have looked up early signs of labor and leaking amniotic fluid means her water broke... Here is more info for you...

* Your water breaks.
When the fluid-filled amniotic sac surrounding your baby ruptures, the fluid leaks from your vagina. And whether it comes out in a large gush or a small trickle, you should call your doctor or midwife.

Most women start having regular contractions sometime before their water breaks, but in some cases, the water breaks first. When this happens, labor usually follows soon. If you don't start having contractions on your own within a certain amount of time, you'll need to be induced, since your baby will be at increased risk for infection without the amniotic sac's built-in protection against germs.

She needs to call her OB and go to see him/her. They have a piece of paper like Litmus that they put some of the fluid on and it will tell them if it is amniotic fluid or urine. The doctor has to make a decision on whether or not to deliver the baby because the longer she is leaking fluid, the more likely mom and baby can get an infection. Baby, especially, can get sick and have to stay in the hospital on IV antibiotics for a few days if that happens. As was stated before, no tub baths, no sex, nothing inserted in there. Call the doctor now. Better safe than sorry.

It is very possible she is leaking amniotic fluid. A lot of times a woman's water breaks, but the baby's head is so low it acts like a cork. So fluid only comes out when the mother changes position (from sitting to standing, vice versa) and the baby's head moves a little before settling back into place.

She needs to get to the hospital asap. If her water has broken (even if it's only leaking a little) she needs to deliver within 24 hours or risk the baby.

Your baby puts a lot of pressure on your bladder that it could be that she is peeing herself and not even know it. BUT if she is soaking a pad every hour or something insane like that, her water probably broke. Not everyone's water gushes out. Some trickle and leak out because as you stand, your babies head acts as a cork, so to speak. I think that being that close to her due date, she should go into the doctors to have them check her out. It's a quick and easy thing to check for and it's always better to be sure than assume it's nothing.

If the pad does not smell like urine then its probably the amniotic fluid. Some times this happens. There is a chance of infection so she needs to call her doctor, now. She is near her 37th week so the baby should be okay- babies born at 37 weeks are considered full term.

Sounds like it's worth a call to the doctor. I was in labor and got to 7 cm dilated and never knew it. It is, though, normal for a very pregnant woman to leak when she stands up or laughs or coughs. Since she is so close, though, she should probably be checked. Good luck, I'll pray for her and the baby that they are both healthy.

get her to the doctors office now...she could of sprung a leak. She needs to be checked out now, the doctor can decide what will happen next. they don't want the baby to be in there over 24 hours after the water has broke b/c if can lead to infections. better safe than sorry, take her in to be seen. good luck.

The only way to know for sure is to go in to have a PH test done. Don't delay because if it is a small hole both she and the baby are at more risk if infection. Call the OB immediately and see what they want to do - don't play around with it! Good luck!
