It was so painful, I'd have to be sedated to do it again.

I had one done about 3 years ago. I was under general anesthetic during the procedure because I also had a laparoscopy and biopsy of my uterus all done at the same time. However, the recovery was painful. It was much worse than my D&C. After 8 months ttc unsuccessfully, once I had the HSG, I conceived the very next month and had a full term healthy baby girl. I was scheduled to have another one done had I not conceived the month that I did. I was seeing a fertility specialist at this time. He said that sometimes an HSG can be very theraputic. He has had many patients that get pregnant right after having it done. Best of luck to you.

Usually one HSG is all thats neeed , i think
