I recently did a project on the history of time (*snickers at private nerd humor) and in my studies I've found the the way we measure time has been revised over the years. I even heard that they are even now trying to come up with a universal time system that is to be more acurate than the time zone and daylight saving time confusion. With all of this new knowledge it makes me wonder if it is really 2007 right now or has time keeping been so altered that we are some years ahead or behind schedule?

Time is a human endeavor that is taught by human beings for the lack of something better to do.

Time keeping is just a relative measure for our convenience - it has no absolute basis and no "schedule" for it to abide by. The event used to date the start of our calendar (the birth of Jesus) is not even a well-attested historical event, and indeed some people speculate that if we correctly read hints in the Gospels, Jesus must have been born in 3 or 4 BC, not 0 AD. But it doesn't matter -we've all agreed that this is the year 2007, so, by our mutual convention, it is. Surely there have been hiccups along the way, in transferring from various calendar systems, but not so much as a whole year, maybe only a few days here and there.

I don't know. The sun was created around five billion years ago. It's also true that Christ was born in 0, which is the turning point. But since nobody alive has been in the times of the eighteenth century back, we may have missed a few years.

It might have more to do with the birth of christ. He was more likely born in 2 -10 AD .This would make it between 2009-2017.Times before christ (BC) were poorly documented.

Over time(which I`m glad I`m, not), calenders have changed many tines. and not all countries have the same one, but here is USA, it is indeed 2007, because that is the system that we use

The calendar is contrived by humans. There is no absolute calander or time that goes with the natural world.
