They are like ants and mice and able to squeeze through small openings. Look outside the house and get rid of any wasp nests you find - carefully. The nest destroyed will really piss them off and they will seek another location. Caulk cracks and check screens and look for any other openings where they can enter. There are many kinds of wasps, most don't tend to bother people but can. Ground behives are more concern because they tend to swarm you if you mess with them.

Do you have a chimney? They love flying down those to get into houses. Plus, as the others suggsted, it could be via a crack in the window screen/pane/frame et.c or a door jam.
Geta yellow jacket trap from Lowe's or Ace and put it on a tree outside. You'll trap so many of the little bastards you won't believe it.

All issues artwork jointly for the solid of people who love God. some human beings do not make it on your age, have a spouse, occupation or force an El Camino. Be grateful.

I would look for one of those sonic pest away gadgets at your hardware store and see if they work on yellow jackets. I would think they would.
My neighbor has told me he started using them for mice but noticed that he never sees any insects in the house since he plugged them in.
Good Luck
