As soon as we can figure out how to draft only Democrats! Again with the draft question. The draft won't be activated in the run-up for the 2008 elections, bad PR move. After the 2008 elections maybe we can institute compulsory service for every able bodied high school grad before they are admitted to any college, that will really boost the head count!

You're not going to see the draft. Even those commanders on the ground calling urgently for more troops don't want incompetent conscripts who don't want to be there. More importantly, a draft would be so unpopular as to spell the end of the political career of anyone who actually supported it.

The only people suggesting the draft are anti-war activists trying to recruit fearful young men (and fearful parents of young men) to thier side.

Unlike my position back in the 70's, I am very much in favor with reinstating a Mandatory Draft.

I would Draft any Male who was not in School, including HS Dropouts.

Unlike most, I think the draft should and will be re-instated. Our troops are stretched too thin and are being deployed for longer tours of duty. All the pro-war people think it just takes money to win a war, it takes solders and boots on the ground and we do not have enough.

It will be within this year, Bush and his cronies will have to have a legitimate reason, so expect another inside job like 911 to precede the draft, and if you refuse to serve you will be called unpatriotic. You will probably be put in one of the many detention camps being built across the USA.

No need for a draft. We have 1.5 million servicepersons spread out across the globe 'protecting american interests'. I'm sure all those host countries would love America to send all those troops to Iraq to fight those 2000 terrorists. Exactly how many troops does it take to kill a terrorist?

It won't happen. This is just a left-wing scare tactic used to instill fear and unrest into the hearts and minds of Americans.

There isn't going to be adraft. Bush isn't going to get enough volunteers for his war--the American people aren't buying it.

And here is the equation: draft=impeachment.
