yeah, J's right to a point. I, being a colt fan, myself was surprised when they drafted wr in the first round. But there's a good reason for that as well. It might not seem like it but it won't be long before Harrison starts thinking about retiring, and they found the perfect replacement for him.
Also, it just isn't the colt style to draft big time Defensive men. You look at their defense, most of them were drafted in the late rounds or picked up from the free agency. It just isn't colt style to draft big name defensive players in the early round unless it's just absolutely necessary like it was in the case of Ugoh.
However, I do think that the Colts D will do okay this year. I'm not saying that they'll be a good defense, but I think they'll do enough to stay alive in the league. As for their losses.... Cato june was a huge loss for them and yes it will be hard for them to replace him. And i agree that harper and david, and doss were also big losses for them. However they have the CB position covered. We saw Kelvin Hayden play in the Superbowl and we know he is capable of doing what is needed to be a CB. He stepped in when harper got injured. They have a depth when it comes to CB position. Yes, they'll get run over some earlier this season when they're still gettin used to the scheme of things but they'll be fine. And as for people saying that their offense will have to pull the load. Well that's nothing new for them. No matter if they have to or not, their offense is almost always is explosive. Last year was not so much cuz of their lack of 3rd receiver, but now with Gonzales in the mix of things, we'll see some defensive heads turning. I say the Colts get to the Playoffs and even compete to get to the Superbowl... their still one of the better teams in this league and they'll prove it.

The defenses total body of work was overshadowed by four strong performances in the playoffs. But the defense sucked like hell most of the year. I could have run for 100 yards on the Colts and I weigh 270 lbs (about 20 lbs lighter than LenDale White). They lost Cato June, who is one of the best Cover 2 linebackers out there, they lost Nick Harper who was underrated and underappreciated, and I'm glad they lost Jason David because he's now a New Orleans Saint! Montae Reagor is gone also. But they're stronger on offense with the additions of Anthony Gonzales and Tony Ugoh, so that helps the D out a little. All I know is that the Saints are gonna smoke em in the RCA dome September 6th!

it will be fun to watch, teams running against them because they were crap last year and then they went and let go jason david, cato june and nick harper 3 of there best defensive players. because they lost 2 starting cornerbacks bob sanders will have to do a lot more pass defense this season. so they canr rely on him to stop the run as much as he helped last season. he cant do everythng if he does come up a lot to stop the run. the secondary will get torn apart. i know lots of colts fans will now go at me saying "wait and see we dont need them". dungy and polian know what they are doing, but why draft a wide reciever in the first round when u have marvin harrison and reggie wayne and u know the defense isnt good. i dont see the colts defense being anything apart from being destroyed on a weekly bases. oh yeah guess wat else the jags in there division have one of the best running back tandems in the league. i may be wrong but surely even colts fans can accept if they are going to go deep in the play offs the offense has to do the work.

a million - Ahmad is often harm, and could no longer provide better than time-honored production. 2 - Forgot to show he became a bust, yet ok addition. 3 - Landry isn't an truly sturdy protection, he's first rate yet greater of a prior college no longer hassle-free hitter. 4 - He won't be in a position to bypass block in any respect, ask any Lions fan right here, signing him became a terrible pass. 5 - Toler isn't that great (perfect 3) yet i visit certainly say he's a sturdy addition. 6 - i did no longer like the Werner tape lots, i think of Kruger is a sturdy assessment, first rate at maximum issues, great at no longer something. 7 - first rate pickup 8 - do no longer understand lots with reference to the greater youthful men, the veterans stated are actually not something particular. 9 - understand little or no with reference to the gamers stated. 10 - A soccer group pick soccer gamers no longer runners, can he play properly? i may be shocked to work out them win better than 7 with a greater stable time table this 365 days.

I agree with J but....
The pats are better this year and was close to beating them last year in the playoffs, and Joseph Addai will have 2 carry a full load they cant do much in FA due to Paytons HUGE contract they will be horrible aginst the run and avrage at best in the pass i see them winning maybe 9 or 10 wins squeesing in the playoffs and making a early exit. O ya it dosent help that they are in the AFC...

I think they're going to be back in the position they were a couple of years ago where they had to score 38 points a game to win. Even an offense as talented and dangerous as Indy's can't keep that up the whole season. Defense wins championships, and they let some big pieces of their defense walk away.

Yeah they lost some D but they also gained some good D, you haven't obviously been paying enough attention.....
If they have any problem, it will most likely be "burnout!" Its rare when any team can muster the 101% needed to win the SB for two years running.
And please don't insult yourself with silly comments like "they could not stop the run last year." They "failed to stop the run" all the way to a Super Bowl! Sheeeesh!
