My teachers explain it but i still don't get it

Consider the number line:-

Example 1
(-2) + 5
This means 5 to right and then 2 left
Answer is 3 to right
Answer 3

Example 2
(- 4) + (-2)
This means 4 to left and then 2 to left
Answer is 6 to left
Answer is (- 6)

Example 3
(- 6) - (-3)
Ask the question "How many steps from (-3) to (-6)"?
Answer is 3 to LEFT
ANSWER is (-3)
This may be obtained by:-
(- 6) - (-3) = (- 6) + 3 = (-3)

An integer is a number without a decimal (a whole number). You add and subtract them just like you would any number. For example:

2+2 = 4
9-5 = 4
