i have a 90 intruder 800 there is something wrong with charging system draining new batteries, im unfamilier with this type of bike and dont know what are common problems. regulator?, stator?, a ground somewhere draining it? what could it be and how should i test for it? any ideas would be a good start, that regulator looks so easy to change i hope its that but i dont know how to test it, thatnks a lot.

There are more than a couple of things to check and each part has a few different checks to perform.
Purchase a shop manual.

before ya go tearing into the charging system make sure your ground wire is solid and clean.
