I bought the lap top 7 days ago. The line appeared this morning and it changes colour with the background, sometimes it is red and sometimes blue . It's windows vista basic.. i don't know how to get rid of it Help!

Normally when this happens, it is a hardware problem. It may be difficult to get rid of and expensive too. Changing software won't help you. You may need to get a new screen on your laptop.
Your laptop should be under warranty so I'd take advantage of that fact if I were you. Send it back for repairs.

It sounds like you have a column driver problem on your LCD panel.
It sounds like you are missing the green colour, so white looks magenta, yellow looks red and cyan looks blue. Green looks black, red and blue look normal.
Return it for service.
