I have planned our Disney vacation this July such that the return flight is late in the evening, so that we can use the last day of our trip to visit one of the Disney parks. I am planning to stay in one of Disney resorts (Fort Wilderness Cabin). The problem is that the checking-out time is 11am and I was wondering if they allow guests to check-out, keep the bags some place, enjoy the day, come back in the evening and procees to the airport.

Please share your experiences if you have had any. Thanks much.

The Fort Wilderness Campground reservation Cast Member I spoke with said you can either drop them off at the bell desk or request that your luggage be picked up. They will hold it for you, no problem!

When we visit Disney we always have a late flight to do just as you said, have one last day to enjoy the parks before we have to head back to the real world! Anyway, when we were there in April we used the Disney's Magical Express, and it was a dream! You have to call in advance to make the Magical Express reservations. They will send you special luggage tags and a travel voucher for the members of your party. Each person is given a luggage tag for two pieces of luggage. When you make the reservations for the Magical Express they will take all of your flight info, coming and going. When you arrive at the Airport (you have to fly into Orlando International) you don't pick up your bags. You take your carry ons and go to the Disney welcome center. You check in and they almost immediately put you on a bus to your resort. Your luggage follows you and is delivered to your room a couple of hours later. When it is time to go home, we called to have luggage assistance and they sent someone to get the bags. We were able to check in to our flight right at the hotel lobby, including the bags. They took our luggage, and stored our carry ons then we went to the park. When we got on the bus all we needed to worry about was our carry ons, our luggage was already on it's way to the airport. When I got off the plane in Chicago our luggage came down the baggage carousel just like normal. We never touched our luggage at all! If you are able to take advantage of this FREE service I highly recommend it, it was one of the best services they offer to resort guests. So I guess that is a long winded answer to your question, yes they will store any of your luggage or carry ons so you can enjoy the parks, but make sure to check into the Magical Express you won't regret it!!

Hope this helps, have a great trip (I am so jealous, but we are going back hopefully next year!)

You can always drop your luggage at the Reception Outpost (front desk for Fort Wilderness).

I'd also recommend that you look into Disney's Magical Express. It's a free bus service that if you use it, you'll check your bags in at the airport in your home city, and then you won't see them again until they're delivered to your wilderness cabin. Disney claims the bags for you and takes them to your cabin. Then on your return date, you pack your bags and set them right outside your cabin, and go play in the park. When it's time to leave, you take your bus to the airport, and you don't see your bags again until you get to your home city.

I know that Disney Resorts that have bell hops will store your bags for at least 8 hours. The problem here is Fort Wilderness(being a campground) does not have bell hops. I would call the resort, they can give you your options. The number is (407) 824-2900

11am is the normal check out time. You can request (but it won't be guaranteed) to have a later check out time. Normally you will be provided with a safe place to stowe your bags and luggage until it's time for you to say goodbye!

They should store your luggage for as long as you need them too. Maybe the magical express does that, i would imagine they do though. I would definitely ask them beforehand, but I think they will be able to keep your luggage until time to go.
