Ok, so this may be a dumb silly question but it just hit me. If your in the hospital hooked up onto the machine that records contractions, if your hungry can the hunger pains show up as contractions?? Sorry it may sound stupid, but the question just came to me && im curious. Serious answers only please && don't be rude. Thanks!!

No, the monitors measure the tightening of your uterus. Hunger pains are more of a gas or fluid like movement through your intestines. Hence, no tightening involved.

Interesting question! However, in my labor and delivery class we were told that we definitely woudl not be hungry. It's like the body shuts that part of itself off while it focuses on the task at hand.

I wouldnt think so, hunger pains are totally different. Hunger is in your stomach, contractions are in your uterus.

the machine wont pick up on hunger pains. it measures the tightness of your uterus.
