My L4 and L5 discs have a slight bulge to them. I'm not even sure if the epidural goes in either of these discs, or if it's an issue at all.

Would this cause any difficulties with getting an epidural? Or any increased risk of bad side effects?

I'm at 26 weeks now - so I've got time to discuss this with my doc. (which I probably will). Just looking for some more insights.

Thanks

You should be able to have an epidural as the needle goes between the two vertabrates. There are other options for pain medication as well. Hope you have a quick, painfree labour!

It will only make the pain go away, which will help during delivery. The discs are going to hurt like hell before you come to term. Good luck and get a heating pad with moist heat.
